1. Direct Causes
यनेके मनकोमें या रीड की हड्डी में अंदर से कोई बीमारी होने के कारण दर्द पैदा होना। जैसे की
- Spondylosis/Slipdisc : हड्डियोंके गद्दियों के बिच में घिसाव
- Spinal Injury
- Cancer , Infection या tuberculosis
- Rheumatoid arthritis , ankylosing spondylitis

2. Indirect Causes यनेके Biomechanical Related Pain
हड्डियों में बीमारी नहीं है , फिर भी दर्द महसूस होता है। इसका कारण है
- ज्यादा देर बैठ के काम करना
- गलत तरीकेसे बैठना
-वजन ज्यादा होना
-बढ़ती उम्र
- हड्डियोंके गद्दियों के बिच में घिसाव
-तनाव

रीड की हड्डी में दर्द होने का ख़तरा इन लोगोंमें ज्यादा रहता है
- diabetes
-obesity
-thyroid
-calcium deficiency

इसके साथ ही साथ व्यक्ति की unhealthy जीवनशैली के कारन भी रीड की हड्डी में दर्द हो सकता है।
