This Week in Volcano News; Kirishima Erupts, New Costa Rica Eruption
This week, Japan's Kirishima volcano erupted, causing ash to fall on nearby communities. There is now a chance that this eruption could progress into a more explosive one with a lava flow. Meanwhile, in Costa Rica, the Rincon de la Vieja volcano erupted anew, but its eruption was absurdly small. And, in Indonesia, a swarm of low frequency earthquakes continued at the Tangkuban Parahu volcano. This video will discuss these stories and list the 47 volcanoes which are actively erupting around the planet through the perspective of a geologist.
