The Many Active Volcanic Provinces Throughout the Lower 48 States
There are multiple active volcanic provinces which exist in the lower 48 U.S. States including in New Mexico, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, and other states. While most people think that the vast majority of these potentially active volcanoes are located in the Cascade Mountain Range such as Mount Saint Helens, this is not actually the case. This video will discuss the 9 volcanic provinces located in the lower 48, including the Walker Lane, the Basin and Range, the Colorado Plateau, the Yellowstone Hotspot, and the San Andreas Fault Zone.
