Igor Samolet: any person is a document of what happens around. Interview to Russian Art Focus
The colourful and witty works of Igor Samolet (b. 1984) explore complex relationships between different facets of modern-day life: what is real and virtual, personal and social, public and private. The artist turns screenshots from his own smartphone into textile sculptures and installations. His most memorable Facebook statuses, selfies, snapshots and fragments of chats with other people are thus immortalized.
We filmed Igor in the All-Russian Decorative Art Museum, where he participates in the group show "15-minute break", exploring the notion of work.
