The Khanyisa Dance 🐘

The little calf shows off all her best dance moves as she uses her teeth to remove the bark from a branch.

Khanyisa is getting stronger by the day and can now break off larger branches by herself. She still needs some help sometimes, but the older elephants are there to help her break off branches that are too big for her. They also help the young elephants to reach foliage that they can’t reach by themselves, and will also pull up roots for them.

When Khanyisa is at the orphanage, the carers help her to forage and break large branches for her, to make sure that she eats as much as necessary.
