On May 17th 2023 we welcomed the mighty #WOLFGANGVANHALEN as a very special guest in our studios live @ LINEA ROCK (Radio Lombardia TV). Interview - this time in the flesh - by yours truly BARBARA CASERTA to present #MAMMOTHWVH new album “#Mammoth2”, out August 4th 2023 on BMG. We talked the inspiration, the writing, the making “at home” in #5150Studio, once again all on his own as his creative outlet despite now having a great band (Frank Sidoris, Jon Jourdan, Ronnie Ficarro & Garrett Whitlock), how severe he is with himself and Michael “Elvis” Baskette being the only one having a say, what he learned composition-wise by papa #EddieVanHalen, “Take a Bow” long solo played (on that infamous #Frankenstrat), polyrhythmic “Like A Pastime” inspired by Meshuggah and dedicated to his fiancee, the second peculiar cover artwork by John Brosio which marks perfectly how this is a second step of a whole journey keeping that flag high but now dealing also with his own success, the first record in retrospect, how music was written in his destiny no matter what, the percussionist attitude in everything he does, the first gig as a frontman, which one of the different characters in the videos is “the most Wolfie” of all, the three different setlists for the upcoming tour (what an explosive kickstart opening for Metallica!), the most familiar italian word spoken by the Bertinellis, who's in charge of everything Van Halen now, why a #EVH tribute concert is never gonna happen and... in hindsight was it somehow safer not winning that #Grammy he got nominated for the masterpiece “Distance”?
