DEF LEPPARD - Phil Collen "Drastic Symphonies" interview @Linea Rock 2023 by Barbara Caserta

On 29th March 2023 #PHILCOLLEN of mighty #DEFLEPPARD was our guest @ LINEA ROCK interviewed by yours truly BARBARA CASERTA. We discussed the upcoming “#DrasticSymphonies”, a very special album feat. the Royal “Phil”harmonic #Orchestra, the ultimate “greatest hits with a plus”, including some deep-cuts included: choosing / deconstructing / rebuilding tracks (“#Animal”, “Pour Some Sugar On Me” and “Too Late For Love” new stories are very interesting), recording at Abbey Road, dueting with younger-selves and with Emm Gryner, self-producing with an excellent team behind (led by Eric Gorfain and Nick Patrick), eventually touring with an Orchestra, and which previous "Rock Meets Orchestra" album served as an inspiration... We also talked #TheStadiumTour european leg, the challenge of changing setlists very often, changing line-ups habit (not affecting Leps camaradarie), Mick Mars issues and swtching the headlining spot with Motley Crue, burden & success of an evergreen like the “#Hysteria” album still raising the bar, how Deep Purple and Queen changed the curse of his life, NWOBHM, his “natural” commitment since day one in the “Pyromania” days starting from his testosterone-voice, the family feeling (getting stronger dealing with difficulties and differencies, while keeping the band-goal in sight), pioneering with their 2001 biopic and the possibility of a new one, Ed Sheeran and the new building a career process the “drive-hardwork” old way “with talent the better!”, the huge amount of remasters and boxsets, plus a “fact or fiction” curiosity going back in time about the “Most Wanted Ladies Man” in the band!
