What Caused This? Diabetic Wound Care
A new diabetic patient comes in with blisters on four toes of his left foot. Due to lack of treatment, the blisters are converting to infected wounds. A handheld Doppler ultrasound shows that he has poor circulation. He has also been wearing shoes that are too small, making matters worse. The patient also has neuropathy in the feet. The wounds are debrided well, putting the foot in a much better position to heal.
