A year ago this patient in his 50s came to me with a very severe diabetic wound of his right foot. He had his first two toes amputated due to infection and gangrene. He was no longer able to see his surgeon due to a change in his health insurance. I performed significant debridement of the wound on his first visit. A week later a Wound VAC was added to the treatment plan. After many visits for continued debridement, medication, and observation, his wound finally closed. It took an entire village of health care professionals and the dedication of his sister for this story to end in success. Be sure to go back and watch his first 3 videos so you can see how close he was to losing his foot, and how he overcame the odds.
