An elderly diabetic patient was getting regular bi-monthly foot care until the pandemic. She correctly stayed home throughout this time due to her age and health issues. Unfortunately, the lapse in foot care resulted in the thickening of the corn, which led to breakdown of the underlying skin. An infected ulcer was the result. However, she came in time to receive proper wound care to prevent worsening of the infection which could have led to amputation.
