Fake Doors in Georgian Era Architecture

Georgians often put fake doors for the sake of symmetry and to make the house seem larger.

This is something I saw in multiple houses--especially in the entryways. They literally opened up to brick walls and served only an aesthetic purpose and gave the added bonus of making the house look like there were a lot of extra rooms sprouting out. Kind of funny because when it you see it once or twice, you start recognizing the signs. The photos here are of Castle Ward in Ireland, and when I saw them in the entryway, I knew immediately they were fake because when you go into the adjacent room, there's no matching door. Lol.
