NEW STIMULUS BILL $600 NEXT WEEK Second Stimulus Check Update Unemployment PUA Benefits SSI SSDI

Here’s your daily stimulus check, your second stimulus check, your executive action, executive order, memorandums, moratoriums, and stimulus package update for Monday, December 21st, 2020.

With the new stimulus package coming in around $900 billion, some high ranking Democrats are already looking past this new disaster relief package for a future bill containing even more stimulus items.

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y. explained in a tweet: “We need to get this done now, and then we need to do even more under President Biden.”

President Elect Joe Biden is on board with more disaster relief funds following this $900 billion stimulus package, stating: “Immediately, starting in the new year, Congress will need to get to work on support for our [virus] plan, for support to struggling families, and investments in jobs and economic recovery. There will be no time to waste.”

This is even more good news, as it looks like Congress is not viewing this new disaster relief bill as the final stimulus package.

Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin made some very encouraging comments earlier today about when we can expect to see those $600 stimulus checks in our bank accounts.

Mnuchin explained: “The good news is this is a very, very fast way of getting money into the economy. Let me emphasize: People are going to see this money at the beginning of next week.”

He continued: “People go out and spend this money, and that helps small businesses and that helps getting more people back to work. So it’s very fast, it’s money that gets recirculated in the economy.”

With $600 stimulus checks going out to Americans making less than $75,000, as well as $600 per child, I sure hope Mnuchin can press the go button on these direct payments so that we can start to stimulate the economy once again.

Finally, Congress is set to vote on the recently approved $900 billion stimulus package today, and we’re finally starting to see the specific details of the new stimulus bill.

The Phase 4 disaster relief bill offers those $600 stimulus checks, as well as a number of other vitally important stimulus measures.

The new bill includes: $82 billion to education, $300-per-week extended enhanced unemployment benefits, $284 billion for more PPP loans, $30 billion for crushing the vaccine, $22 billion for testing, as well as funding for food stamps, postal service and child care.

While this new $900 billion stimulus package won’t solve all of our problems, it will certainly help millions of Americans with some much needed fiscal support as we close out 2020 and this crazy chapter in history.
