In today’s engaging conversation, Amanda enjoys an incredible conversation with Ziba Lennox. Ziba wants to be remembered for squeezing everything out of life. The Chicago-based ballerina knows how to pirouette through a very busy schedule, juggling two children, two ballet studios and a thriving fashion/ lifestyle blog.

Admittedly working “24/7” these days, Ziba says it’s on her own terms and the key is to truly love what you do. “You really do have to have the burning desire and carve out that time, so that if you’re a stay-at-home mom or you work a busy career, the burning desire for what you love will get you up in the middle of the night. It will force you to stay on schedule,” Ziba says.

In 2009, Ziba and her sister made an impulsive decision to open their first dance studio in Chicago. They were new to town in a pre-social media world and had no network, so it was a gamble. Thanks to old-fashioned word of mouth, the studio took off and they were able to take on two more studios in the years that followed.

“It has been very difficult. Business ownership is not easy, so it helps if you really love it. You have to WANT to get up every day and succeed.” Ziba believes women need to find something they are passionate about to ignite that fire in your belly to push through when the going gets tough. Her ethos of ‘challenges can push us toward greatness’, Ziba finds a way to come out on top every time.
