After 25 Years, I Know Nothing

What I know after 25 years in the wine industry is that I just know nothing.
Every day I learn more. Every day I share more. Every year there's a new vintage. Every year there's a new winery and new people to meet.
So what is great about Burgundy is you never go to the end. You always learn.
And if you learn, you're in the situation of not being a master. You're just in a situation of getting some new information, growing with the industry.
And I think it's what makes Burgundy so special.
Most people think mastery means you know everything. You've seen it all. You've done it all.
But the greatest experts understand something different. The more you learn, the less you know.
Because there's always a new vintage. Always a new winery. Always a new person to meet. Always something you haven't discovered yet.
The moment you think you're a master is the moment you stop learning.
Burgundy is special because it forces humility. It's impossible to reach the end. It's impossible to master it completely.
And that's what keeps people coming back. That's what keeps them growing.
