Branding Is A Psychological Game | Alan Chan, Cultural Design Icon

Why this color? Why this form? Why not this? Why tall? Why smaller? Why big? Why dark?
It's all an analytical psychological game.
Branding is a psychological game to me. It's about how to create emotion. Emotional bonding.
So I think I'm good at that.
And in order to maintain that emotional creativity, I have to act like a child.
You know, only a child has a pure heart. And with a pure heart, when you open up your mind, you can see a better world.
Most designers think branding is strategy. Market research. Positioning. Logo design. Color theory.
But Alan Chan sees it differently. It's a psychological game. Every decision—color, form, size, darkness—is designed to create emotion. To bond.
And to stay creative? You have to act like a child. Because adults overthink. They analyze. They kill ideas before they're born.
But children? They see possibilities. They don't question why. They just create.
That pure heart is what keeps the creativity alive.
Are you overthinking or are you acting like a child?
