Schubert: Piano Sonata No. 6 in E minor, D. 566-Ⅱ. Allegretto, E Major, 2/4 time, Compound ternary form

This work is one of Schubert’s early sonatas, composed at the age of 20 (1817), surviving in an incomplete form with only two complete movements. Compared to his other early sonatas, it stands out for its darker character and Romantic expressiveness, featuring bold harmonic shifts and lyrical melodies.

Ⅱ. Allegretto, E Major, 2/4 time, Compound ternary form
The second movement, in contrast to the darker character of the first, features a gentle waltz-like rhythm and prominently showcases Schubert’s song-like expressiveness.
