Today we're heading to Bethells Beach, known as Te Henga in Maori, to check out the beach and show you the most insane black sand dunes! The West Coast of Auckland is known for it's rugged beaches, it's also home to the Waitakeri Ranges and some incredible walks and hikes. Our favourite isn't the Te Henga Walkway, but actually the Lake Wainamu track.

The Lake Wainamu track is a crazy adventure, especially going of piste like us to reach hidden waterfalls. Most people head out West Auckland for the beaches, Bethells lake or sand dunes only, but we love this little spot for a walk and picnic up over the cliff.
