Lake Wainamu Track Auckland

Lake Wainamu Track is a 7km 2 hour easy loop track walking around the lake Wainamu located near Henderson, Auckland. Starting and ending at the car park on Bethells Road, beside the bridge over Waiti Stream, you could choose to walk along a track following the shallow stream (or in the stream during summer); or up and over a giant sand dune. At the head of the lake after an hour hike, there is the Wainamu Falls or Waitohi Falls. The water is rather cold for swimming in my opinion but soothing for feet. Stop for lunch by the waterfall and enjoy the great nature.
