FIRST ANTIQUE MALL SHOPPING! I VINTAGE FINDS NEAR ATLANTA

My first post-quarantine voyage led me to a cool new place with cool old stuff! Meeting a fun subscriber couple for a merchandise handoff took me to Treasure Hunt near Atlanta for the first time.

Flush with cash thanks to Thrift Kitten’s purchase, I get to explore the mall for 90 minutes, sampling everything from 1870s Eastlake furniture to 1970s Star Wars and uranium glass! This mall proves to have nice specialties in fountain pens, retro toys and vintage vinyl among its 100 or so dealers. Prices were reasonable to really good, and I show some of what I bought (and should’ve bought) along the way.

Spring collections blossom in the form of McCoy pastel planters, wicker porch divans and happy Jadeite glass. One space presents a den-like atmosphere, complete with striking taxidermy mounts (Barracuda!); another shows off a 1910s kitchen scene. For plastic fantastic lovers, one specialist is having a party, a Tupperware party!

We solve a few mysteries along the way, too. What do PeeWee and Cosby have in common? When did G.I. Joe become a hipster? What airline had a serious drug problem? I’ll reveal all I can about the things we see, including some useful pricing information and interpretation of items to help resellers and collectors alike.
