SHOPPING FOR VINTAGE | SELLING FOR PROFIT | FIVE-CHANNEL THRIFTING TRIP

Our final stop during the YouTube channel meetup is a fun vendor mall in Paducah, Kentucky called The Shed! This emporium fills a former Walmart with a vast array of items ranging from contemporary to true antique, in almost any category you can imagine.

Joining me at this meetup are: @Fat Bird Finds , @Real Nifty Vintage , @Thrifter, Junker, Vintage Hunter and "Trusty Huckster Mercantile." If you haven't already subscribed to their channels, I suggest you do if you appreciate antique and vintage items!

We start in as a group—Jeffrey, Misty, Patrick, Laura, Mary Beth and I (see channel links above to find their videos from this day)—but quickly spread out through this huge store to ferret out the vintage finds. There are plenty to discover!

A complete, original cast iron coffee grinder from a 1910s general store greets us at the door. Beyond we find spaces with Coney Island Pepsi trays (one dot, or two?), a rolling farm feeder repurposed as a utility table, and a Holt Howard tiger jar that never earned its stripes.

With six YouTubers shopping in tandem, you might think the competition would be fierce, but we all spot different things and shop well together! Misty and Jeffrey even share a cart that quickly piles with fun 50s ceramics and barware, while Patrick discovers his trademark coasters and the Fat Bird Finds gals contemplate a vibrant retro couch for the set of their Flippin’ and Sippin’ show.

Meanwhile, I explore everything from 1980s robot toys and a Hari Kari product to antique boudoir lamps, and talk about the wonderful buys found in vendor malls that appear to thrift shoppers as well as resellers and collectors. Prices range from $1 to the $22.50 I pay for a Viking ruby bird that I flip a week later for $100! As per usual, I talk a lot about what makes things cool, the values they might fetch and the bargains we find.
