Would‌ ‌you‌ ‌like‌ ‌to‌ ‌know‌ ‌all about SnagIt 2020?‌ ‌

This‌ ‌tutorial‌ on SnagIt ‌from Teacher Training Videos shows you all of the features of this versatile educational tool. Screencapture is, for me, the most important and transformative online educational technology In this tutorial I take you through five examples in of how we can use snagit in education, especially teaching teaching online.

These examples focus on some of the ways you can use Snagit 2020 for online teaching. It includes recording yourself presenting over a PowerPoint slide, talking over a sequence of pictures, using Snagit 2020 for giving students online feedback. You will see how this technology could easily be used to record a whole range of online lessons and content that you want to share with your students. If you don't want to do a live online lesson with SKYPE then the alternative is to record your lessons with your students and then share them via tools like Edmodo, Moodle or Blackboard

This video tutorial focuses on the following areas:

using SnagIt to record over a PowerPoint and add your voice to the presentation video.
using SnagIt to talk over a sequence of pictures.
using SnagIt to provide feedback to your students.
using SnagIt to create worksheets and exercises.
using SnagIt to create really professional leaflets and handouts.

This video is packed with lots of great ideas that you will be able to use in your teaching and learning immediately. snagit is a superior image capture tool which can also be used to create video. If you're a teacher you will be able to find out straight from the beginning what screen capture is and how you already seen it being used full stop this is the technology that you may have come across without realising or you may have come across it but wanted to to utilise it for yourself. with snagit you can do all of the above things and more. to begin with recording your voice narration over the top of a PowerPoint presentation Is fairly straightforward. you can switch between your webcam and what the viewer sees on screen. at the beginning of this tutorial you will see me using snagit with my webcam starting by showing this and and then going on to record the screen by marking out areas of the screen you have control over what snaggy actually records and what will appear in the final video. For video capture you can pause the recordings at any stage, and switch to the PowerPoint view. This is a way of creating a seamless transition between the two types of screen capture recording. That is, creating a screencast which switches between you speaking and the presentation slides which you are talking over. You may want to narrate over the top of a few slides or maybe several slides before you switch back to the webcam view.

All of this will come out in the final video. you don't have to be able to talk non-stop or to have things scripted because at any stage you can pause the recording. The benefits of this feature means that you can take your time to get things right. As soon as you have finished you can review the recording by playing it back immediately. If you are satisfied with the recording in snagit you have the option to immediately share the recording you could save it to your computer or upload to YouTube. The ease of use of this great teacher is. It's so user-friendly and intuitive. You'll notice in the tutorial that I don't open up the full PowerPoint I just have it with the menu of all the slides on the left-hand side and I only mark off the area of the slide shown on screen.

Another example is to bring up a series of pictures and the rate over the top of those. The second part of the video demonstrates this. Again, you don't have to be an expert. simply Mark out the small area of the screen which shows the picture or photograph and took over the top of it, pausing when necessary. As a teacher you might want to do a mini lecture for your students or you might want to encourage your students to take hold of the technology themselves and do something similar with their own pictures. These are real educational examples in staggered or for using this great tool.

Another feature very close to my heart is giving digital feedback to my learners. Snagit 2020 tutorial covers the practical idea of using audible or visual pieces of feedback to a student essay, presentation or other written or visual work. In this tutorial you watch me marking out an area of a students piece of written work and I can highlight and draw attention to aspects of the students written work. Research has shown that students or learners really benefit from getting this kind of digital feedback where they can play and replay the recording to their heart’s content.
