The Angel of the North
Taking in a stop at The Angel of the North on our 5 day road trip. Wet and misty conditions, but at least the wind had dropped during Storm Callum.
Designed by Anthony Gormley and completed in 1998, the Angel is 20m tall with a wingspan of 54m. Designed to withstand 100mph winds, the foundations contain 600 tonnes of concrete to anchor it to the bedrock 21m down. The statue itself weighs 200 tonnes.
Music:
Tell the Angels by Letter Box.
Angelic Forest by Doug Maxwell
