DerwentWater - River mouth to the islands
Kayaking on Derwent Water. The uninhabited St Herbert's Island was used in the 2016 film, Swallows & Amazons. The island with the big house on is Derwent Isle, being the only inhabited island in the Lake District. The house is 18th century, owned by the National Trust. Further back in time, the island was owned by Fountain's Abbey and used by the monks.
