VAUGHN MONROE: The Bristol Stomp
Vaughn Monroe had many hit pop/ballad/western records during the 1940's and 1950's...and he even dabbled with rock 'n roll with titles like "The Rock 'N Roll Train". He continued to record throughout his life. During his contract run with Dot Records, the former big band leader made an entire album of most unlikely music, the then-current teen sound called the stomps. Only a few of the tunes on this 1962 release featured Vaughn's rich vocals, while the others were mostly instrumentals. Here is "The Bristol Stomp" from that album.
