VAUGHN MONROE: The Bye Bye Blackbird Twist

After his longterm contract with RCA Victor expired, Vaughn Monroe recorded a series of one-off singles for various labels like MGM, United Artists, Amy, Kapp, etc. One of these singles found Vaughn expanding his horizons to the then-current twist fad that was very popular with the younger set. It seemed to be a strange combination: a pop singer, an old song, and the twist...but it worked, although the record didn't sell many copies.
