Bring the Elephant Home is cooperating with local organizations in Borneo to create a more suitable environment for the endangered Bornean elephant. Together we work on creating and expanding corridors, increasing biodiversity and restoring the forest in areas affected by oil palm plantations. Bring the Elephant Home translates research data into action, to make sure this unique elephant has a chance to survive.
Our video gives a good impression of this natural treasure, the ongoing destruction and our work on forest conservation.
Special thanks to the international creative team, that fully volunteered to produce this video:
Camera, video editing and production: Federico Menzano
Storyboard: Federico Menzano and Antoinette van de Water

Help raise awareness about the Bornean elephants by sharing this video.
Donations are needed to continue our work in this area. All donations, big or small, will directly contribute to a more suitable habitat for the Bornean elephant.
Borneo
A natural treasure
A hotspot of biodiversity
Home of thousands of species
That live together
Under the same forest canopy
Home of the Bornean elephant
A rare subspecies, small in size,
only found on these green fertile lands
As all elephants,
the Bornean elephants are always moving
They follow migration routes
along the Kinabatangan river
Unparalleled deforestation in human history
is destroying and breaking up their habitat
Migration routes have been interrupted
and food is scarce
Forced to cross plantations since there is no other way
With human-elephant conflicts getting more intense each year
30 years ago 75% of Borneo was covered with forest
two thirds of that forest has now been cut,
mostly for palm oil plantations
A battle between economy and ecology
Extinction looms
Bring the Elephant Home
Together with local organizations
HUTAN, MESCOT,
Danau Girang Field Centre and the Sabah Wildlife Department
are working to restore the lost forest
and regenerate green corridors for the Bornean elephants
By capacity building,
community participation,
research,
and lots of tree planting!
We strive for a world of diversity
with space for all
We struggle for a green world for ourselves
and future generations
As we know that to protect natural habitat
is to protect ourselves
You can also take action
The time is now!
For each donation we plant more trees.
