I cut a 6' fence piece into 3 even pieces. That's it - that's the dimensions you'll need. The 2x4 I used was a 10' board that I cut in half, so each post is 5' tall.

Wood here was $10 for the planks, $8 for the posts, $15 for mailbox, and $2 for each number.
