Tesla Gigafactory Texas 21 September 2020 Construction Update 4K

21 September Giga Texas Update video. Hurricane Beta made it’s presence known with a lot of gusty winds and rain, but I was able to get a small window of time to get some drone footage. Work was slowed, but not stopped as GeoPier crews and some excavators were working on the main foundation area.
Yesterday Elon Musk tweeted out some information concerning how the factory building will look, so I’ve put together a new rendering to try and illustrate what it may look like given these details. Hopefully we will get an official render at Battery day tomorrow!
At the north pad area, they have moved in cement batch plant conveyors and a water storage container in what appears to be the installation of a concrete production facility. Additional roads and more land clearing in the north have happened in the past 48 to 72 hours as well.
The northwest pond is noticeably very low as draining operations have been going 24/7 using several large pumps. This is great news as they need the water gone in order to fill, compact, install Geotextile membranes and more fill to get this area level and allow the foundation to extend to it’s final full length. The rain of hurricane Beta doesn’t seem to be bad enough to impact the draining operations, which is good to see.
On the far north pad, Martin Marietta is laying down several concrete slabs, most likely to support a concrete batch and/or mixing production area to service the enormous amount of concrete Giga Texas will be needing soon. More earthwork around the Martin Marietta “abandoned” batch plant on the west continues.
Due to heavy winds and rain, most of the footage was done in about half of the total area to ensure safe return to launching point, but the weather later this week is looking great so work should continue at the fast pace we have been growing accustomed to.
