Double Header on the Nevada Northern

As part of the huge party to send Nevada Northern 40 off for its 15-year boiler inspection and rebuild, the Nevada Northern ran a doubleheader with number 40 and 93 on the head end of the longest passenger train they ever pulled on the scenic railroad.

In October of 2019, the railroad museum in Ely Nevada held several special events in honor of the final run of Nevada Northern #40 before going into the shop for two years for rebuilding. The final run was a recreation of the "Steptoe Valley Flyer" pulled by #40. But the day before they ren this amazing train.

The size of the train was in part a needed response to the COVID 19 pandemic gripping the world at that time. The cars could only seat half their normal passenger occupancy (and all the passengers and crew were required to wear face coverings) and so they put everything that had on the train to cover the demand for this great event.
