Nevada Northern #81 revisit with #93 and #40 all steamed up!

The Nevada Northern threw a big party to honor the final run of "the Ghost Train", #40. All three steam locomotives were steamed up! This week we look at the progress on the restoration of #81.

A few weeks ago we were here at Ely Nevada to see the first fire in #81. Only a few weeks later and #81 is now steamed up and pulling water and coal from it's tender. While there is still much to do, it looks and sounds like a steam locomotive!

The final run of #40 was Sunday. But on Saturday 40 and 93 double-headed up Robinson Canyon to Keystone, and on Sunday for its final run, #40 recreated the Steptoe Valley Flyer with cars 5 and 20, the original cars pulled by 40 in its final run in 1941.
