Golden Spike Driving Reenactment 2021 - Reopening the Golden Spike National Historic Park

As Covid restrictions were relaxed in May of 2021, we headed back to the Golden Spike National Historic Park to take part in the reenactment of the driving of the Golden Spike in 1869.

Free at last... After 14 months, Covid restrictions were coming down, and face masks were not required (but strongly advised) for those of us who were fully vaccinated. The site was mostly closed for a time and only now was they back to the normal annual events. Still, only about 200 people showed up, but this gave us the best access to the events!!.

We were last here in 2019 for the GREAT 150th anniversary of the finishing of America's transcontinental railroad and the driving the "Golden Spike". (Actually there were 5 ceremonial spikes)
