Tesla Gigafactory Texas 17 May 2021 Cyber Truck & Model Y Factory Construction Update (07:30AM)

Gigafactory Texas on 17 May 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!
Rains and storms have returned to Giga Texas, but work continues! Today we visit many of the areas under construction or other activity around the main facility. We begin on the west side of the highway and then follow the Colorado river around to the east and then north.
One thing we highlight today is the work of EnviroCon Systems, Inc. from Houston, Texas building what may well be a site landfill area on the north by the old plant, and then possibly construction on top once it is filled. Here are the highlights from today's video:
- On the west side of the highway, we see the new road continue to be constructed on the peak of a raised area with slopes to either side to manage water flow and future rains. We also see where it intersects with highway 973 on the far west, giving another major entrance for vehicle traffic onto the factory site. The large foundation basic preparation and shape is now completed, ready for future GeoPier work to begin soon.
- On the south of the site, we look at the Colorado River and a pathway around to the east storage and contractor trailer area.
- On the far east side, se see the growing and changing staging area for materials and equipment that is not immediately needed or will be in the future. We also see the contractor trailer area where many of the key construction contractors are located.
- The east side foundation work continues, mainly focused on reinforcing the soil and filling the area to bring the grade up to level with the rest of the site. Recent rains, and forecasted thunderstorms may slow the pace of work in this area this week.
- The northeast new clearing area is essentially acting as a fill dirt source for the effort to fill and raise the grade of the east foundation area.
- We look at the Martin Marietta concrete batch plant to see what appears to be preparations for eventual relocation off-site. A lot of concrete rubble is strewn all over the east and north sections of the plant area, and what appears to be some clearing of the debris field to the northeast.
- The housing area in the center of the east side looks to be getting preparations to relocate the construction communication center and electrical connections. Following this, expect to see demolition of the remaining house and housing area to allow for the foundation to continue to extend farther to the north.
- The new Harold Green road is now getting paved from the end on the east side all the way west to the new entrance off the frontage roads.
- The “pond” area to the north of the old pant has the HDPE liner completely installed and work continues by the EnviroCon Systems Inc., company out of Huston Texas. Their specialty is in making lined areas for spill containment and other similar purposes). This may be yet another clue to this area being a site landfill and allowing construction to occur on top, once filled and sealed.
- Finally, we look at the temporary storage area on the west side for the huge prefabricated concrete wall panels and other large materials until needed.
