Once the image is burned in to the emulsion on the yudu screen we need to wash out the unwanted emulsion. The image on our transparency has blocked the light from transforming all the emulsion into an insoluble material. So the exposed part will not be damaged by water now and the unexposed part can be washed out.
So we remove the screen form the yudu machine and take it to the sink. It is best to use hot water if available. A sprayer is also handy. Just start rinsing the image out. The water will very quickly soften the unexposed emulsion. You can then use your fingers or a sponge to gently scrub out the unwanted material. The sprayer can also help to remove the material.
Once the unwanted emulsion is removed from the screen it needs to go back into the dryer to dry out. It may also be a good idea once the screen is dry again to put it on the light box of the yudu machine and re-expose. This will ensure the maximum performance from your prepared yudu screen.
