What a find! I battled through the countryside in 36 degree heat to find this unbelievable original Trulli in Puglia, 8km from Ostuni. This complex of coned shaped houses are only found in Puglia, Italy. Now quite rare to find in good locations, this Italian property is ready to be restored and loved.

In the heart of the Itria valley, between the towns of Ostuni and Cisternino in Puglia, Italy, a well-known destinations for it's natural beauty and amazing Trulli, we are pleased to offer for sale this complex of buildings. In need of restoration the buildings sit on a panoramic position with 5 cones and several "alcoves" for a total gross area of 150 sqm and a net area of 80 sqm. The land is approximately 1 hectare (10,000 sqm) and 35 sqm of arable land and olive grove. There's a cistern for the collection of water. There also is the possibility of constructing an additional building, subject to planning, of 100 sqm.

The Adriatic Sea is 10km away, a few kilometers away are all the shopping centers, and the most famous historical centers of Puglia such as Cisternino, Ostuni, Polignano a Mare, Martina Franca, Monopoli and Fasano for its golf course.

Trulli Houses Italy History:

A Trulli is a coned shaped building made of stone and original built with no cement. The first Trulli are believed to date back to the 11th century. Built by hand the concept and architectural knowhow of how and why these buildings were constructed with a cone roof is still debated today. In the 15th century the King of Naples imposed taxes on buildings. This led to ingenious construction with a keystone enabling the owner to quickly demolish the entrance rendering the house unliveable, thus avoiding the property tax. Today, these buildings are still used as homes, so much so that these unique structures are now becoming difficult to find in there original condition.
