gelatinous egg mass produced by the mid-water diamondback squid, Thysanoteuthis rhombus. Videotaped December 1, 1996 on the morning after the mass coral spawning event. No GPS available but location was near the outer edge of the barrier reef while returning to port from Mantis Reef. Ann Fielding (Hawaii) is the diver who identifies the egg mass; Danna Staaf provided the species identification.
