01-27-2021 Salinas, CA - Heavy Rains turn Burn Scars to Deadly Mudflows

Another neighborhood (along Pine Canyon Drive) battling a mudflow. This is about 5 miles NW from the mudflow at Chualar. This mudflow is also caused from the River Fire burn area. Emergency crews and residents are trying to keep the mudflow in the streambed but the debris and mud is blocking culverts and sending the water over the road and thru the neighborhood. Rain continues to fall. Aerial video shows the burn scar above the neighborhood.
