This BRUTAL NEW PC VR GAME really SUPRISED me! // Quest 2 PC VR Gameplay

Undead Citadel surprised me, I was ready for it to be another VR arena brawler or Blade & Sorcery style VR physics game but it's actually a proper VR dark fantasy adventure with a single player story to progress through and a horde mode for whenever you just want to cause chaos. Undead Citadel is very much a VR sword fighting / VR combat game at its core, the combat feels chunky and dispatching enemies with the wide array of weapons and power-ups is incredibly fun. However there is also a story here with linear levels to explore complete with optional interiors you can check out, light puzzle elements, lock picking and voice acting that narrates key moments in your journey. It's very clear that this is an indie VR effort but I'd say Undead Citadel sits at the very high end of PC VR indie games, my only gripes at this early stage are sound design (many sounds are low volume and don't convey the brutality of the game, some sections are also lacking atmosphere) and visuals (it's definitely not a bad looking game but some areas do look grainy and washed out). If you're a fan of Hellsplit Arena, Blade & Sorcery or perhaps you just want a decent single player VR game to get stuck into the it's easy to recommend Undead Citadel.

This Undead Citadel VR gameplay was captured using a pre-release build of the game on a Quest 2 via a wired PC VR connection. There is no native Undead Citadel Quest 2 version so you will need a PC to experience this new VR game. The gameplay here was captured on the highest settings and is representative of 4090 VR gameplay.
