Is this REALLY the VR DARK SOULS?! // Quest 2 PC VR Gameplay

Is Grimlord really the VR Dark Souls game we've been waiting for? Let's find out! Grimlord VR has just launched into early access on PC (and a demo showcasing a small chunk of the game has also arrived natively on the Quest 2 which you can check it out here: https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/5015212428599892/), it's a brand new VR game that aims to replicate the feeling of the insanely popular From Soft titles for a VR audience. The enemy designs, the NPC dialogue, the parry/attack animation driven combat, stamina systems, the world itself... it all feels like it was pulled from the Dark Souls series and transplanted into VR with some well implemented changes to core mechanics that make it much more viable as a VR product. Grimlord really is the closest thing to a fully fledged VR Dark Souls game that we currently have, the combat is chunky and not physics driven, the world has a similar moody dark fantasy vibe and the story is drip fed by NPCs who speak with that all too familiar souls like style. Grimlord isn't just a cheap Souls copy however, it feels unique and implements well crafted VR gameplay systems, it's more of a homage to the work that From Soft have created than a direct Dark Souls VR experience and I for one am absolutely loving it.

Grimlord is currently available in early access so new areas and mechanics will be implemented as development continues, however the product that is available right now is a very impressive VR experience from an indie dev team who were clearly influenced by their time spent in the world of Lordran. Fans of Dark Souls and those looking for a chunky VR RPG experience should definitely give Grimlord a look. This Grimlord VR gameplay was captured on the highest settings via a Quest 2 PC VR connection, it's representative of 4090 VR gameplay.
