ANTIQUES & VINTAGE AT THRIFT STORE PRICES! | RESALE SHOP WITH US

Yvon-Thrifty Rich comes by her channel name honestly, and its her turn to show me the thrift store circuit that produces her greatest finds! It’s a beautiful fall day in Colorado Springs, and the great state of Colorado (where I’ve found bargains in years past) doesn’t disappoint on this outing!

While our antique store finds were all good deals, the thrift stores are refreshingly priced like…a thrift store! Our first stop provides me a stylish string art cross, a ‘marble’ Syroco shelf and a fine Kaiser bisque mom and child, over a hundred dollars worth of goods for just $12. Yvon and I spend a lot more time I’ve spent in a Goodwill in ages, then move on to the ARC down the street.

ARC stores are familiar in Colorado cities, and the variety and quantity they get is mind-boggling! Yvon and Crazy Lamp Lady have taught me to look at mugs, and while Yvon pulls out a monogrammed one worth $10, I discover 1970s GE factory cafe mugs priced at 99 cents with an $8-10 eBay closed sales record. Loftier ware awaits, and I show that you can still make money on Candlewick glass and Royal Albert china—purchased at a thrift store price. Yvon scores some good raku pottery with designer names she recognizes…pays to know your home turf!

More goodies pile into the carts as we explore another pair of chain thrifts in a nearby neighborhood. Elegant art deco curtain tiebacks, crazy Japanese records and a gleaming tiara all make their way into bags, and I successfully pack my van even deeper than it was when I rolled in to town. Yvon’s willingness to share her secret sources made our first thrift day together extra fine, and I’m looking forward to seeing more of her and of Colorado thrifting and vintage when I return!
