Elephants of the Chobe River
A short video of the behaviour of elephants in the Chobe River, Chobe National Park, Botswana. Once the level of the Chobe River subsides the elephant herds flock down to the river to feed on the, now accessible lush green grass. The large bulls are the first to swim across to the various islands in the river. As the water subsides even further the breeding herds with calves follow. This leads to some spectacular viewing where the elephant dislodges the grass and shake it to clear it from the mud before eating it.
