Cleanup Progress January 2022
UCOR and the Oak Ridge Office of Environmental Management have been hard at work with cleanup projects on the Oak Ridge Reservation. In January, the EM and UCOR Vision 2020 management team received a Secretary of Energy Achievement Award and an agreement was signed with the USACE to begin work on the K-25 Viewing facility. At ORNL, deactivation was full swing as workers start filling the 21-foot-deep Bulk Shielding Reactor pool with concrete to prepare for the facility for eventual demolition.
