Biology Complex Demolition Project Update

Major work is under way at the Y-12 National Security Complex. Crews are removing the last massive building of the Biology Complex to be begin a new chapter of transformation and modernization at Y-12.

This is one of the first major projects for this new era of cleanup in Oak Ridge. It will result in a distinct skyline change at the site. As crews complete demolition on the Biology Complex later this year, workers will transition to other projects that address and remove deteriorating Manhattan and Cold War-era facilities across the site to enhance safety and enable modernization.
