Reviving a Dead Frozen 12 VDC Car Battery

I don't use my car often and the battery dies and won't allow the starter to engage. I pulled the battery to recharge and find out the cells are frozen. I, therefore, allow it to before attempting to charging it up. The battery charges for many hours yet failed its first load test. I allow it to charge for many more hours then it passes its load test.
