EMPRESS JOSAPHINE'S CAMEO TIARA / SWEDISH CAMEO TIARA

This Swedish tiara with a fascinating background dates back to the 1800s,
& was first owned by Napoléon Bonaparte's wife,Joséphine.
It was a part of a parure which included a necklace,a bracelet and a pair of earings and has been designedby Napoleon's court jeweler, Marie-Étienne Nitot.The seven cameos used in this tiara are not of the same size, as they were made for a different purpose,but was later put together in the tiara.
Her daughter from a previous marriage,Hortense, who briefly was the queen of Holland,was portrayed wearing the cameos.
Following the death of Josaphine,her jewellery was devided between her two children, and the cameo was believed to be given to her son Eugène
Eugène's daughter,Joséphine of Leuchtenberg (later crown princess Josefina)recieved the cameo tiara as a wedding gift, when she married Crown Prince Oscar of Sweden and Norway in 1823. 
She was portrayed in a painting of the swedish royal family in 1837, wearing the cameo tiara.
She was again portrayed in a painting in 1890's wearing the cameo tiara.
Following the death of Josefina,the cameo parure was inherited by her only daughter, Princess Eugenie. As Princess Eugenie never got married, the parure was inherited by her nephew, Prince Eugen.
Prince Eugen, also didn't get married and passed down the parure to the wife of
his nephew, Crown Prince Gustaf Adolf,Crown Princess Margareta.
princess Margareta wore the cameo tiara for the wedding of Count Carl Bernadotte of Wisborg. On the way she famously made a pitstop, to give a history lesson to nurssary
children, wearing the tiara of Napolean's wife.The tiara was then gifted to Princess Sibylla of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha when she married Prince Gustaf Adolf in 1932.
Sybilla's daughter , Princess Birgitta wore the cameo tiara when she married Prince Johann Georg of Hohenzollern in 1961,giving rise to a family tradition of royal brides wearing the cameo tiara for their weddings.
Sybilla's younger daughter Princess Desiree wore the cameo tiara in 1964, when she married Baron Niclas Silfverschiöld.
Following the death of Princess Sibylla in 1972, the cameo parure was passed down to her son, the crowning king of Sweden,Prince Carl Gustaf.  
 Prince Carl Gustaf married German born Silvia Sommerlath in 1976 and Silvia carried on the tradition, by wearing the cameo tiara on her wedding day.
34 years later in 2010,crown princess Victoria wore the cameo tiara when she married Daniel Westling.y
