HIKING WESTERN AUSTRALIA - Little Lagoon to Denham coast walk, Monkey Mia dolphins (有中文CC)

At the heart of the Shark Bay UNESCO World Heritage Area, the small town of Denham is host to a myriad of unique flora and fauna. Join Richard as he takes an early-morning hike from town to the picturesque spot known as Little Lagoon.

The Trail
There is no official trail as such, but tracks that lead from the north of the town cut across scrubland to the lagoon.
To walk back to town from the lagoon you can just follow the coastline.
The coastal trail measures about 5km one way, while it’s about 3.5km across the scrubland.

Travel Logistics
Denham is in a very remote location around 10-12 hours drive north of Perth.
Public transport is available, but is complicated.
Integrity Coach Lines has a bus service that takes you to the Overlander Roadhouse (details can be found here.)
From there you can catch a bus to Monkey Mia or Denham with Shark Bay Coaches (details here.)
Drone
There are no known restrictions on the use of drones in the Denham Area. For guidelines on usage in WA National Parks please see here.
