HIKING ALONG TAIWAN’S WULING RIDGE IN THE RAIN (a la @kraigadams ) 雨不停的武陵+林口星馬美食

I went back to Wuling Farm in central Taiwan to complete the two peaks of the Wuling 4 (武陵四秀) that I had yet to climb on the way to my goal of climbing Taiwan’s “100 Peaks” or 百岳.
However, for the second time the weather did not comply and torrential rain meant I came down the mountain early without climbing Mt Pintian (品田山) and just one peak (Mt. Kalahei 喀拉業山) under my belt - Baiyue No.16
We live to fight another day!

Transport details:
The trailhead is located inside Wuling Farm (武陵農場) and getting there is a long winded affair - even if you have a car.
It takes around 2-3 hours to drive from Yilan along a winding mountain road.
Check ahead if there has been heavy rain in the days preceding your trip as the road can sometimes be closed by rockslides.
If you don’t have your own transport, you can take a bus.
The 1751 and 1764 buses from Yilan (宜蘭) and Luodong (羅東) to Lishan (梨山) stop at the entrance to Wuling Farm.
The fare is around NT$300 (US$9) and will take around 2-3 hours.
The trailhead for Taoshan is at the far end of the farm near Wuling Lodge (武陵山莊) several kilometers from the bus stop.
You can catch a shuttle bus to the lodge.
