A Visit To Niagara Falls in Canada
We visited Niagara Falls on two unguided tours on the Canadian side of the U.S.-Canada border. (1) Journey Behind the Falls is located in the Table Rock Centre beside the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. We took an elevator down to two short tunnels that extend approximately 46 meters (151 ft) behind the waterfall and allow visitors to view water cascading in front of the open cave entrances. Then we walked out onto the observation deck and looked up at the famous Horseshoe Falls to the right. The thunderous cascade sprays visitors with water so we are wearing yellow plastic rain coverings to protect our clothes. (2) For the Hornblower boat tour, we were provided red plastic rain ponchos. We rode up to the Horseshoe Falls, turned around and rode back toward the Rainbow Bridge, where we viewed the smaller American Falls, and to the right of that, the very narrow Bridalveil Falls.
