NOTE: : As well as being one of the best and most prolific Polish pop singers of the 1930s, Tadeusz Faliszewski was also a talented performer of a variety of stage characters, including Warsaw apaches, Lvov street hoodlums, big-city grandees, fat Moscow merchants from the tsarist era or Yiddish 'shmonces' couplets. Here he and his equally talented wife Halina Faliszewska (born Kidawska) sing a country chant in an amusing rural language. They present visions of a happy life in the countryside after their marriage. How beautiful their cottage will be - white in the fields, with birds singing on the roof, and he will hug her, etc. Their performance is charming, witty and full of the characteristic joyful atmosphere of the Polish countryside of the early 20th century. And the oberek dance tempo and instrumentation are excellently done by the Syrena Rekord Orchestra (with uncredited leadership). Pictured are some views of the pre-war Polish countryside.
