Tadeusz Faliszewski & Henryk Gold Orch. (1935) - Od miłości nikt się nie wykręci
Tadeusz Faliszewski & Ork. Henryka Golda - Od miłości nikt się nie wykręci [Noone Is Able To Wiggle Out Of Love] Slow-fox trot (F.Scher, Szebego – K.Tom) Syrena-Electro 1935 (Polish)
NOTE: The film comedy “Dwie Joasie” (Two Joannas) with array of the beloved prewar Polish film stars: Jadwiga Smosarska, Franciszek Brodniewicz, Ina Benita, Michał Znicz or Lucyna Szczepańska was the box office smash in 1935. The simple and charming story is based on the love troubles of a pretty and diligent typist Joanna (Jadwiga Smosarska), whose attractive looks however cause her bosses' unwanted courtesies. This makes her abandon job after job until desperate, she changes her appearance and takes the next job as an uglier. There, however, the roles turn around and it is Joanna who falls in love with her new employer (Franciszek Brodniewicz). The beautiful music written by the young pianist & composer Alfred Scher contributed to the film’s success making it one of the highlights of prewar music comedy in Poland. The melodic slow-fox “Od miłości nikt się nie wykręci” [Noone Is Able To Wiggle Out Of Love] is sung in the movie by Lucyna Szczepańska: one of the leading Operetta actresses of the younger generation in prewar Poland. Szczepańska - who performs in the movie Joanna’s friend Klimcia, gives a singing lesson to poor Joanna, who is unhappily in love with her boss. No one is protected from the arrow of Amor, not even our bosses at work. Just wait patiently for that moment. “Nobody is able to wiggle out of love / Love will get you, whether you want it or not…” – sings Klimcia to her friend in the movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=41&v=AU6tBaVPhe8&feature=emb_title
Tadeusz Faliszewski makes a nice performance in place of Lucyna Szczepańska, so does the orchestra led by Henryk Gold: the best dance band in prewar Warsaw. The slideshow presents several Polish actors, whose behavior well illustrates the song’s statement.
