George Clooney and Renee Zellweger in "Leatherheads" (set in 1925)

George Clooney directed and starred in "Leatherheads" with Renee Zellweger, who plays 1920s and 30s characters better than anyone in the 21st century. This deliberate descendant of the delicious madcap comedies of the late 1930s and early 1940s is a beautifully made film, although it didn't do as well at the box office as a movie of this quality deserved.
